Some of the directions in this text are crystal clear, and others leave you scratching your head. Honestly, I could have figured out the few things I didn't know about Microsoft Office without this reference, other than Access (I'd simply never used Access before, so it was completely new to me). Unfortunately, the class that required this text was one I couldn't test out of, so I had to use it if only for the assignment details. The feature this guide beats into the ground is SmartArt, and it gets very annoying, very quickly. Graphics are definitely important for specific types of documents (flyers for example), but not every document you will work on needs all of the trouble, or bells and whistles. Honestly, unless you're totally new to the Office suite (or Access), or this text is required for you, you won't learn a lot from this.
It is such a useless book. We had to buy it for my class, but the instructions for assignments are way over explained making them more complicated than necessary. This book is not helpful. The way the pages are numbered only adds to my dislike. The pages start all over at each section. That makes it really hard to just flip through it and find answers. It also came already slightly folded because they sent it in a folder and it is paper back.
The text has several errors that will make want to tear your hair out.I nearly tore the thing up when I got to the excel exercises. I had to google how to do things for my assignments because the book didn't specify or explain how to do something.
This book is literally a step-by-step guide to learning everything that the Microsoft Office Suite can do! I had no idea that you could do most of the things that I learned in this book, and it's extremely user-friendly. I highly recommend purchasing this book as opposed to renting it...I rented it for a class and now I wish that I bought it to use in my office.
Rental was reasonable price for time needed and got the textbook on time. The textbook was worn when I got it and the binding has worn even more just from me flipping through, disappointing if I would be charged for worn that was already there.
Good condition. Some of the pages are crinkled but i expected it. Just like the description.
