Interesting information.

The cover a couple of pages in the front and back fell off. As much as I tried to keep the front connected to the book, it kept falling off and I misplaced the first few pages, which is obvious upon receipt of the book. I've rented multiple books from Amazon and have never had a book come apart like this.

Arrived faster than promised. Can't say that I'm really enjoying the read as it is basically just review at this point. But, it's a textbook so whatcha gonna do.

Book is ok. Was listed as acceptable condition, but when it arrived half of the spine was missing and a few pages were not binded. As I use the book it is continuing, a slight annoyance.

This isnt my first time renting books that come from warehouse deals but this is the first time I've gotten a book that looked as bad as this one does. The front and back cover look like something had been chewing at it. Thank God the rest of the book is intact and I'm actually able to turn the pages without the book falling apart unlike others.UPDATEthe book has officially fallen apart as in almost a whole chapter has become detached. Warning to anyone who needs this book, rent it from other sites like Chegg or Bookrenter because then you probably wont receive a book as horrible as this one!!!

This book is not formatted correctly for the kindle so the print stays really small and you cannot use it on any device but the kindle. I would like to be able to get my money back, but I have not seen a way to do that so far on my account.

A great and very informative book.... a must have. Teaches you alot about laws...

Tackling the concepts of gravity postulated by Aristotle as either levity, or heavyness, tackling the notion of an earth centered universe, and most of all, taking on the established intelligentsia of Latin and Greek scholarship which did not question documents and their ideas, ultimately leading to a narrow and rigid world view with an even more rigid religio-political society culminating in Bruno'so demise; this book, as is anything written by Giordano Bruno, is a welcome edition to add to any growing neoplatonic or hermetic library, or to anybody who wants to expand their notion of the universe and it's immense scope.

so far I must admit that this is my least favorite translation

On the infinite, this book is verry difficult to read, so, one has to review it several times which consumes time and energy even if you try to meditate it. I suppose that the translater did more to interprete than to make it understandable. for him I hope that there are some lecturers out there who are better of than I am.

An excellent translation of a classic work of Hermeticism with extensive and helpful footnotes.

About the Author

Dr. Ann Newmark worked as a curator, writer, and researcher at the Science Museum in London. She helped to revamp the chemistry galleries as a research assistant in the 1970s, became senior curator of the Experimental Chemistry branch in the 1980s, and was promoted to head of documentation in the 1990s. I just love the dk eyewitness books. The photos are eye-catching and colorful and the text is broken into bite sized bits. I am using this book for homeschool as our guiding textbook for our first dip into chemistry. We get a little help from Janice van cleave and Max Axiom too. My son is 7 and is at about a second grade level. He's probably not as impressed as I am. Probably because he didn't have MY chemistry book to compare to, lol. Anyway, its great for an introduction to some important ideas.

I homeschool my 5 kids, ages 3-13 and this books has something for all of us. DK books are so engaging and visually stimulating that the kids will just open them and spend an hour just reading. I used DK books when I taught Kindergarten and now that I homeschool, I'm collecting them a little at a time. LOVE this book!

I don't know what I was thinking when I bought this book. I must not have read the descriptions because I got it for my 4 year old daughter and when it arrived I almost immediately sent it back. My first impression was that there was a lot of information in this book and almost all of the topics seemed to me to be over her head. Boy was I wrong, once my daughter saw the book she was HOOKED. This has become her favorite bedtime story.There are so many bright beautiful pictures and the descriptions/writing is very clear and effective. Each page is packed with information and covers the subtopic very thoroughly. Unlike most of the books we own, we can't read this all in one sitting so we pick a few pages at a time. My daughter is constantly asking questions about all the amazing photo's. And I find myself learning things and really feeling engaged in reading (unlike all our princess books we have read eight million times).I believe my daughter enjoys this book so much partially because it comes across as grown up material and isn't 'kiddified' but the pictures do allow her to see and understand the material in her own terms/style. I am egger to buy more books from this line to see if they all are able to create such a love of learning.

Great pictures with short snips of excellent and engaging history.

Bought this for my 9 yr old granddaughter who had taken a class in chemistry as a summer camp which really peaked her curiosity.I gave this to her at our family beach trip. All the kids-3 of them- were sitting and learning along with her. Everyone got into the act and the book was quite a hit. (Some of the adult "chem" majors added bits and pieces, so the whole family got into it.) This is one of a number of DK books which I will be buying more of. My granddaughter was thrilled and took the book to bed with her to reread.The setup of the book gives an interesting overview and tells of chemistry in ancient times which she found really interesting as she loves ancient Greece and history and kept saying-I didn't know that. The table of contents is really inviting and there isa glossary of terms at the back.Overall this is a great book. It arrived very quickly and was packed very well.

This is a great all-in-one starter book for someone who wants to understand more about chemistry. My son expressed an interest in learning more about chemistry and I struggled with where to start without boring him to tears and squashing his interest. This book was perfect and he loves it. A very well layed out book loaded with great content.

Wish this books was as large at the Smithsonian collection dk puts out, but none the less it is an excellent book for our 8 year old interested in all things science! Great information for all ages, I've learned equally as much as my son!
