He instructs the villagers to pull on the web string when the food is done. He goes on his way, but soon the tugs start coming…and coming…and coming! What will happen when Anansi is pulled in all different directions? This retelling of a Ghanaian folktale combines wit, color, and timeless wisdom to spin a tale that will delight children and parents alike. Just be careful not to get caught in Anansi’s web! H. J. Arrington is an accomplished storyteller and dramatic reader. She marries her passion for literature and language with traditional East African folktales in order to teach skills like problem-solving and critical thinking. She has worked as a professor, reading resource specialist, and educational consultant, in addition to providing workshops on storytelling and integrated language arts. Arrington is the author of two other African tales, The Heart of a Friendship: An East African Folktale and Friends Again?, also published by Pelican. She is from Hampton, Virginia, and currently resides in Big Stone Gap, Virginia Nicole Allin is a professional illustrator and graphic designer. Since she was a child, she could always be found drawing (only occasionally on the walls). She learned her craft from the Rhode Island School of Design and the Savannah College of Art and Design.
