I agree with the other reviewers. This book starts with the basics and is very clear, easily understandable. I've just started teaching Mechatronics at a community college and reviewed several textbooks. One that the previous Program Director selected was way too complex. They were talking about baud rates in the 1st Introductory chapter. That should be like Chap 8 or 9. This book does not do that. Mr. Petruzella starts off simply, using every day words. I've selected the newer 5th Edition to teach my students, both high schoolers and 1st year college students. I just wished he had written a book for Introduction to Mechatronics. His writing style is very good, very understandable.

Clearly written, accurate and well illustrated, this high quality textbook is an excellent resource to teach yourself the fundamentals of PLCs. Mr. Petruzella has even added photographs and descriptions of the inner workings of commonly used I/O devices, which is especially helpful for novices. Based on Allen Bradley's SLC500 series and their RS LOGIX programming software, it covers enough ground to enable technicians to understand how they work, how to troubleshoot I/O problems, understand, modify and even originate programs found in typical industrial applications.Having moved from the power generation field--where large scale distributed control systems do the vast majority of control and PLCs handle packaged auxiliaries--to the manufacturing industry, I encountered I/O devices and motion control applications I wasn't familiar with. Mr. P's book filled in the gaps.It would have been nice if answers to at least the odd numbered review questions had been included to help quickly test my understanding, but when in doubt, I go back to the text where the answers can always be found.I also purchased the LogixPro PLC simulator (Mr. P also wrote a lab exercise manual that comes with the simulator or you can buy the simulator by itself). It gives you the ability to write, test and debug programs using the RS LOGIX instruction set and programming interface--in fact it's very close to the real deal. I really could have used that when I first started programming PLCs because learning to program using a real PLC hooked up to lights and switches is too limiting (and prohibitively expensive for many of us). And I'd rather not test and debug my programs using live machinery if I can avoid it.

This was required text for an Electronics Course. I have read the author's textbook on Motor Control (Electric Motors and Control Systems)and just like it, this text is a great overview of the subject. The text is well written and formatted. If you have read his motor control book then Chapter 6 of his PLC book will look very similar, Déjà vu will overcome you. Well, he pretty much copied alot of the info from Ch 4 of his Motor Control Book (illustrations and all)! I can't fault Mr. Petruzella for that since the same material crosses over and he did an awesome job of tackling it the first time, if it ain't broken, don't fix it. This caused some good banter in class. Anyways, this is a great text on the subject matter and once again I Aced the class it was required reading in.

For a college book, I suppose it works. The instructor is constantly finding errors in this book, however, especially when it comes to the ladder logic diagrams. These aren't small errors, but rather code-breaking issues that, while not visible to someone like myself who isn't used to working with PLCs, would normally be seen by someone well-versed in this software and logic structuring - which I had expected at least the author to be.

Book was great untill pg 93 it appears the printer messed up leaving the entire page double printed and impossible to read

Don't buy if you're not a student. More specifically, you won't have access to the solutions for all problems unless you're an instructor.All I wanted was some structured information to help me learn about PLCs outside of the classroom to increase my skillset for my career. After spending over $300 for the three books, I find out there's no way to verify that my answers are correct. There isn't even a solutions section with half of the answers in the appendix, which is typical for a classroom textbook. Not cool McGraw Hill!

Excellent coverage of electrical circuits and how they relate to PLC's. This book explains everything you will need to know to jump into using PLC's in manufacturing, production, and industry. If this book doesn't work for you, none will. Very well organized. Great explanations for the experienced and newbie alike.

2.5 chapters into this textbook, and I think that it's only slightly easier to read than the newer version. It's cheaper than the fourth edition (go figure), but I ended up getting the international 4E to compliment this. Differences I've found so far are less pictures, and less end of chapter questions (my class assigned homework by question numbers, which did not match). I'll probably keep this for my library after I finish the class since it's so cheap, and also hardcover.

Michael Skidgell's book is a great introduction to a complicated event. He covers the basics with clear writing and in a chronological sequence. The bulk of the book contains mini-biographies of those who perished in the Hartford Circus Fire. While other books go much further in depth, this 141 page volume gives you the essentials. It is not going to "wow" you as there are a lot of facts, but it is a great starting point for research into this topic.

An excellent, well written account of a terrible tragedy.

Excellent retelling of the horrible Hartford Circus Fire in 1944. Author does not overwhelm us with too much information. Sticks to the pertinent facts and presents an easily read story Short personal biographies of each person killed in the fire is an interesting and very human addition to the book

So sad. But a good read. Takes you through personal experiences.

Mr. Skidgell apparently did a great deal of research for this book, for which he must be commended. However, he has a tortuous, roundabout, and indirect writing style that makes this book a difficult read. I liken it to going next door by walking all away around the block to get there. I got the impression that this was done intentionally to fill space, because if you cut out the chapter detailing the fate of each victim- which unfortunately becomes tedious- the whole book might have been cut by a skillful editor to a work about the length of a magazine article.

Facts done in novel form.

Very sad.

This is along the lines of a biography of many circus fire survivors. It is not a history of the facts leading to the fire.

I ordered this book because for some reason pop-up books always seem to stoke his interest more than a traditional illustrated book does. I found myself enjoying this book as much as he did and now know more space facts than I did when I was in school. I would highly recommend this for any child space enthusiast or for any parent wanting to get their child interested in astronomy.

My masters degree has moss growing on it and I am just a nuts and bolts operations analyst....so I have seen many books titled as "analytics" texts when in fact they were mere rewrites of applied statistics or just "also ran" Excel recaps. Some Excel analytics books are really VBA biased programming books or discussions built around SQL Server topics, and they certainly have their place. But "Marketing Analytics" has maintained its focus as a synthesis of Excel based analysis chapter by chapter, from the first page to the last page. Because analytics and "BI" are hot topics these days, analytics texts of this caliber usually have unusually high prices but "Marketing Analytics" has a modest price given its focused content of current Excel applications to perform an array of analyses. Wayne Winston and Wiley & Sons Publishing have produced a text which is indeed an asset to the practitioner and the student of Excel based analytics.

This guys knows his stuff. It's a BIG book of ideas on how to use Excel to forecast or model. Treat it like a reference although you could read it end to end for entertainment value.

What an excellent book. The authors balance rigor w/ an applied step-by-step approach that is relatively easy to follow for those dedicated to learning the material.

Excellent for knowing how to do some stuff which I didn’t thought I can do with excel (no need to learn R programming or Python). But you need to know your analytics part a priori.Overall, very satisfied with my purchase.

It is a good mix of Excel capabilities and Marketing/Economic concepts, however Wayne has a tendency to dive directly into equations of how to calculate a concept without fully providing additional information that is needed. This makes it a bit hard to conceptualize what he is trying to say unless you have pre existing knowledge of the subject. It is a very good tactical book and I would recommend it as a very strong supplement to Analyst and Marketing managers who are trying to expand their knowledge base.

this manga SLAPS i’m so glad it got translated in English. so soft and beautiful we stan honestly. the story? hard. the art? hard. the main character? HARD. I definitely recommend I read it like three times over. Please support the artist by picking up a copy!

This is so cute and very nostalgic, seeing as how it has that Ranma 1/2 feel to it. Its so sweet and brought a smile to my face. All the characters are so nicely introduced to you and very likeable right off the bat. Of course since its just the first volume, the romance is not there yet but will obviously get there without a doubt. If you like comedy, sweet, pure feelings, I highly recommend this book. Syundei sensei has won a fan! I will be rooting for him and this very lovely series he has created. I enjoyed it so much I read it three times wishing the second volume would somehow magically appear already!

This is honestly the cutest thing I’ve ever read. You can’t help but to fall in love with Nakamura and hope the best for him. All the characters in this book are extremely lovable, and the 80s art style really is charming. I highly recommend this book.

This was such a fun and sweet book! I loved the characters personalities. The chapters were all funny and light hearted.It was such a cute little romance!I have one down side but it's spoilers so don't read further if you don't want a spoiler!************I would've rather it been a true romance that continues and is actualized. Instead it was just pining throughout the whole book. It was such a nice innocent gay story, and was a more realistic version of being gay than yaoi and boys love manga usually are. But because of it, there's that sort of fear of "What will he think when he finds out I'm gay?" "Will he like me back if I confess or will he dislike me for being gay?". Because of this I would've liked it to move all the way to confession, because that weight could've been lifted. It sounds like this is going to be the only volume (i.e. this isn't volume one, but the complete story) which is why I added this. If it were to continue, then I understand and am happy with it building slowly and not having gotten to confession quiet yet.

Such a sweet, genuine, loving love story! I was enamored all the way through it. Nakamura is such a cute and sweet character, and a good match for the boy he likes! I was really satisfied with the end, but I definitely wouldn't complain if we ever saw a sequel!Heartfelt and cute. I'm glad to have it on my shelf.

I thought the book was one of the cutest books I’ve ever seen! Every moment made me say awe and I just loved it. By far my favorite BL and even though there isn’t much actually romance in this actually book, I still loved it. But just know this is a SHOUNEN AI, not a yaoi!! So there aren’t any sex scenes, let alone any kissing!! So if that’s what you’re looking for this book isn’t for you! Still super cute overall, I’m dying waiting for volume 2. I love this author so far and I’m totally ready for their next book! 629 stars out of 5! Completely recommend!!

A boring read. Period. Please choose another title. I love yaoi. But this isn’t the one to fall in love with. I preordered it without waiting for customer reviews. The good news is that the font is easy to read. It’s a nice small portable size. But content is rather lifeless. I’m sorry. But I was disappointed.

Okay, I just finished reading the manga, and I've got to say that its pretty good. There are some flaws to it (like the repeating of introducing the main character), but if you put it aside, this really isn't a bad book. I liked the female character Kawamura. She was adorable and goofy. And the main character was a magnificent dork. I felt pretty connected to him, in a way. It was enjoyable.

We are already comfortable with the benefits of integrated medicine as a way to enhance health, now it's time for a more integrated approach to parenting. Dr. Miller has shown through her scientific research at Columbia that parents who support the spiritual lives of their children raise healthier, happier, and emotionally resilient kids who eventually become healthier, happier and more balanced adults.

A very important book. I bought it because of my grandchildren, but it had a profound effect on me too. Miller opened up my eyes to many sources of transcendent spirituality that deserve to be recognized. I had been reluctant to value adequately them, as they were not necessarily "religion." But she points out that religion works when we have spirituality to bring to it. I felt enriched by her understanding and wisdom.

I loved this book. I have purchased many copies to give to friends and just ordered another last week to give to some new parents. I wish I had had this book from the moment my kids were born! The book is a great look through a scientific lens at the importance of nurturing spirituality in our children. I am convinced that spirituality does help children grow into healthy adults. This book is a helpful guide to keeping our kids on the right path through nurturing their spirituality (and helping ourselves as parents in the process).

Brilliant...recommended to me by Episcopal Bishop Edward Salmon who describes it as all the research proving that parents can secure the spiritual health of their children. He was right...this is a must read for all pastors, Sunday School directors, parents and God-parents.
