Thoughts: This book was so so so amazing! Sutherland made each chapter build and grow on each other like a skyscraper that keeps getting higher and higher. I loved how this book was so creative with the different villains. It added a lot of suspense to the story. I also thought it was so cool how Sutherland made the prologue all mysterious, and it's only explained near the end. Another thing I cherished about this book is how Sutherland talked about Qibli's backstory, something we've kind of been kept in suspense about since Book 1. Overall, I loved this book and, in general, the Wings of Fire series.Written by a ten year old boy

This book nearly made me cry the feels are unreal. It's amazing how great of an author Tui is. Hopefully the series continues forever. Best book series I've ever read in my life.Many surprises await to be discovered if you have been reading this series since the beginning. ❤️❤️😭😭❤️

I felt like this was a great clever book, but it didn't reach the hype that it left in my mind from the last book. -Spoilers- A huge portion of the book was with the character Qibli, and his journey around the kingdom of sand. Not much of it was dealing with Darkstalker, the main villain in the book, and which we so felt hyped for. It seemed so effortless to break Turtle out of the prison and to, later on, stop the fighting between the Nightwings and the icewings. I felt like Qibli was very clever throughout the story, and the characters are really well developed. I still would recommend this book. Another gripe for me was speculation, throughout the series you'd speculate on what would happen next. You'd stay awake at night wondering what would happen next. However, this didn't quite show in the book. Still a solid book in the series.

I love this whole amazing magical series! Tui T Sutherland had managed to make the best books in the world!If you didn't know this book is based on Qibli's perspective. You meet his family and understand more about him and his life including his crush on Moon. (Pretty sad) He helps his friends stop the prophecy, and defeat Darkstalker with a bit of animus magic in a really weird way. (But also kind of cute) (you will see what I mean)Wings of Fire Forever!Tess Stanley

This book is amazing and highly inspirational, wrapping you up in a tight blanket of suspense, thrill, action, mystery, and loyalty. The characters eminate a glow that makes you feel their love, hatred,and both hopefully and hopelessness. Occasionally you simply must giggle or smirk or flinch or squeeze your kindle so hard it pops. A thick, vivid world is created, scenes are painted both beautifully and tragically, and you just can't help but feel a tingling feeling, more than simple satisfaction, when you turn the lat page of this marvelous tapestry of a book. IT BETTER NOT BE THE LAST ONE.If there happens to BE a next book, ( of which I am hearing soepeople say they loved the " series finale" and some writing they are eager for the next ( or five? ) books) I hope the narrater will be for Moon or Kinkajou. Honestly, this book was fanominally breathtaking, but Moon Rising was my second, due to character perspective and events. I love it when authors give you a hint or a detail beforehand in the book that presently seems dirley insignificant and turns out to carral all the story and make you bubble with anticipation and think WHY DIDN'T I NOTICE THAT.Meanwhile, Kinkajou is a ferociously wonderful butterfly of loyalty, a well- formed character who can only be described as teeming with strong joy that is only given to her - nope. Her joy is given to her friends AND all those aroud her, whether they like it or not, no matter how adorably annoying she may be. She is above and beyond the dictionary description of lovable. It would be equally fascinating to see the Jade Winglet's next adventure through her eyes.And then there is Clay. He started off this series, so why shouldn't he finnish it? ( Not that the next book should be the last one. It better not. )Finally there is " The Legends " . I strongly believe and suggest that there be at the least one more Legend book, regardless of what dragonly tale and\ or secrets it behold.One more thing: enemies. Exquisite. Darkstalker could be both loathed and empathised, and often an unstable combination of both. But by far my favorite villan was Queen Scarlet. A refreshingly evil female; powerful, clever, and you couln' t think she was good. Never. True, Darkstlker was a great nemesis, a simply ( almost ) indestructible challenge, but no one was as thirsty as Queen Scarlet. Revenge- wise, power- wise, and blood-wise. I know spreading out the evil amoung characters is good, but have a truly COMMON enemy. P.S. : These books are plain amazing. Once diving in, there' s no diving out from Sutherland's WONDERFUL series brimmed with action, color, betrayal, love and DRAGONS.

To start off I won’t be speaking about the content of the book, only about physical appearance of the book. It came in really good condition even though it was labeled as used/very good. It has not been highlighted or marked in anyway so I believe it was really good for the price, and no complaints except that I received it in my mailbox along with another book that I purchased and the problem is that they were folded and bent in such way that they were able to fit in the mailbox which caused creases in the middle of both of the books.Just so y’all know it’s a paperback, everything inside is black and white.Hopefully it works well for my freshman chem class.

About the Author

Dr. St. John is a retired college professor and administrator who lives with his wife Sharon in Old Town, Maine. Earlier in his career he was an executive with the Hershey Foods Corporation, the educational director for a national food association and a public school administrator, teacher, coach and counselor. The author received his bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona with a major in speech. He earned his doctorate from the University of Southern California with a major in management and a minor in counseling. His post doctoral communications and counseling training included: sensitivity training with the prestigious National Training Lab and Human Relations and communications training with authorities such as Doctor Carl Rogers and Doctor Harry Levinson of the Menninger Clinic. Dr. St. John's relevant experience for writing this book includes: interacting with chronically ill family and friends, counseling disabled veterans, directing a live-in summer camp for multi-handicapped youth, supervising events at several Special Olympics as well as counseling students in grades 6-12. In addition, Dr. St. John consulted dozens of reputable health care professionals whose insights and experiences are reflected in the contents of the book. The author has taught interpersonal communications courses for over twenty years as well as presented communications workshops throughout the United States and Canada. He also has numerous communications publications to his credit.

This is a book of poems, not the one with helpful information that I expected.

Solace by Walter St. John, Ed.D is a perfect book for anyone caring for another person. This book is easy to read and is divided into short chapters that tell specifics about the caregiving process and skills to know. Being a caregiver is one of the most difficult and challenging roles anyone can have, and most of us will have it at some time in our lives. This book is an excellent guide and tool to show you how to respond effectively and how to listen, relate, and show empathy in the best ways for those who are severely or chornically ill or dying. Solace tells us what to say and do, and very importantly: what NOT to say or do. Covered in the book are the categories of Cominicating, Helping, Listening, Observing,Relating, and Responding. Very helpful are the chapters on how to talk to someone who is gravely ill (by listening intently and trying to see things from the invalid's perspective). Being a caregiver can be very taxing on one emotionally, as well as physically exhausting, but St. John has made the job much smoother by telling specifics of how to give the care, so the stress of saying and doing the wrong thing, although well intentioned, is removed. This book is a MUST for any caregiver, and read it well ahead of the time you may need it.

I wish I had this book when I had to weigh my options for putting a family member in a nursing home! Cirillo covered most of the relevant issues, and also provided some nice life-lessons for us all.Cirillo writes is a very casual style. You almost feel like you are sitting down with a story teller, who happens to be a trusted friend. His allusions to his "old neighborhood" of South Philadelphia provide a nice slice of life. You can tell that Cirillo speaks from experience and with a passion for his commitment to long term care. This is not the cold synthesis of a researcher; rather stories with a purpose from a warm-hearted, well-organized educator, entertainer, and long term care professional.This book is something that every potential client for long term care should read.

"Who Moved My Dentures" is must reading for baby boomers contemplating nursing home care for their parents, or thinking ahead some years when they may be residing themselves in such an institution. Many of us are apprehensive about aging, and Cirillo does a great job dispelling some of the myths of aging in America and what it's like living in an assisted care facility. In addition to being a healthcare professional, Cirillo entertains in diverse assisted living facilities, more than 300 shows a year on the east coast. Thus, he writes from an insider's view, and he has a unique perspective gained from experience at many different institutions. The myths Cirillo addresses in each chapter are the questions many of us with little experience have about such institutions; e.g., are they places to die vs. a temporary home to enjoy life, what types of activities can you do there, friendships, romance, visitors. The biggest take away for me was the information presented about long-term care insurance. The costs associated with assisted living, as with other health care costs, are very high in America. An unplanned extended stay in such a facility can severely impact the financial resources of families without some type of insurance protection. I recommend this short book (163 pages) as a good initial resource for someone considering assisted living.

Anthony's book has helped our family come to terms with a very difficult decision. My wife and I have been anxious and sad at the thought of moving her mother to a long-term care facility. After reading "Who Moved My Dentures" we have a much better insight into the matter and feel more informed and less worried. As difficult as it is still going to be, just because of what it means to leave a house that has been your home for virtually your entire life, Anthony takes much of the edge off of the situation. His encouraging and warm first-person account of his experiences provides a balance to the negative press that long-term care facilities sometimes receive. He not only gives encouragement and support but also is humorous and enlightening, giving the reader a truly personal glimpse into the day-to-day lives of the wonderful people that live here and the dedicated people that care for them, including Anthony himself. If you will EVER have the need for information regarding long-term care, this is required reading. Great stories, great lives, great book!!

This book gives a comprehensive view of the realities of making decisions when it comes to placing loved ones into nursing homes and assisted living facilities. The stories and events explained in the book are enlightening, happy, sad, and quite true. Having gone through such an experience, I wish I would have known about this book as it would have provided comfort and assurance in knowing the decisions our family made were the correct ones when it came time for the assisted living and nursing home experiences with our dad.Cirillo makes hundreds of visits to the various institutions described in his book, so he sees firsthand the challenges and difficulties that we all must face someday, but he presents it in such a way, that makes for interesting and valuable reading.This book is a must read for all those that have aging loved ones that may be facing elder care alternatives and it will definitely help ease the burden of decisions that will ultimately have to be made. I recommend this book to everyone.

I got this book because I wanted to start studying Arabic. It has been a good start because it helps you to say things without really trying to teach you anything complicated. It also teaches you practical vocabulary for common situations. Thus far, I am about half-way through and can already say a good amount in Arabic. The audio CD provides good guidance. However, if one is very interested in proper pronunciation, the man, a native Arabic speaker, has a perfect accent while Jane Wightwick has quite an obvious English accent in Arabic (as far as I know, her intonation is correct, which is the most important thing at this point). However, from the standpoint of an English-speaker, a lot of the sounds in Arabic are quite comparable to those of English and are only subtly different, but those subtle differences play a large role in foreign accents. The two of them split the task of pronouncing the Arabic words, so some audio has the English accent and some doesn't. The games and activities are helpful. This book is a good beginning but does not provide any detailed grammar information. The grammar is very basic, but the point of the book is to help the student start "communicating right away", which it achieves quite well. The book focuses on nouns and adjectives, not really touching on verbs at all (verbs are quite complicated in Arabic and it would not make sense to include them in a beginner's book). Vocabulary is presented in short lists, which is the most effective way to approach vocabulary. As far as reading goes, I would recommend first buying a guide to Arabic handwriting instead of relying on this book to start reading Arabic. I am glad to have found this product.

I'm about halfway through and am really enjoying it. I'm a history major and am focusing on Middle Eastern/US relations and history, and I plan on taking Arabic courses while abroad, but I wanted to give myself a head start. It's important to keep in mind that there are MANY Arabic dialects, so learning vocabulary and the grammar structure from this book will not prepare you for going to any Arab country and talking like a native, but I think it does a good job of introducing you to the basics of the language and will probably make learning a dialect much easier. The MP3 files included in the CD are tons helpful -- I put them into my ipod and it makes them very easy and accessible, though of course listening off the computer is fine too.

it doesn't teach the Arabic alphabet in the beginning. it makes it very confusing to jump straight into it without being able to recognize or know how to pronounce any of the letters

I had used the Japanese version of this book and really enjoyed it--the Chinese version is just as excellent. This is a textbook that is fun, that you will want to use. It has large type, pictures, great audio clips that require participation, and games. It's perfect for self-study.

Jane Wightwick and her collaborator are the best language educators I have encountered. I've never seen a more "game like" approach to language teaching that makes it fun and effective.

I am totally new to learning Arabic and this book is great to get me started and for some daily practice! This suits me just fine as anything more may be a bit much at this point. I am considering this book as a building block to other more advanced books! I currently only know English so this book transitions me slowly into the Arabic language, which is preferable.

This Arabic book is really great for someone who already knows the alphabet and the sounds of it's letters. If you have that skill down, then you will really enjoy this teaching book. It's well organized and each chapter offers useful vocabulary and creative ways to remember the new words.

It helps if you are familiar with the Arabic script, so you don't have to flip to back of book all the time. Would recommend the "My first 100 Arabic words" book for that. Then this is a great 2nd step to start very basic conversations.
